With an impressive career race record of 5 wins and 5 placings from just 11 starts, Trumbull is definitely a horse with plenty of talent!
On Saturday at Randwick he resumed in the BM 88 over 1200m and commenced his preparation just the way he finished his last one, on a winning note!
With James McDonald aboard Trumbull didn’t enjoy any favours in the run as with a genuine lack of tempo up front he was posted 3 wide without cover throughout. McDonald didn’t panic however and held Trumbull together making sure he was travelling well in his comfort zone.
Given more rein on straightening Trumbull showed his customary turn of foot to dash to the front and held on gallantly for a gutsy win.
Trumbull will now head toward a 1200m heat of the Provincial Championships at Gosford on the 14.2.
