3yo Rubick filly, Sweet Ruby extended her race record to 3 wins and 4 placings from just 10 starts with a dominant victory in the f&m BM 64 over 1400m at Hawkesbury on Thursday with 2kg apprentice Dylan Gibbons aboard.
After being pole-axed at her previous run on the Kensington track the instructions were simple with Ruby, don’t go to the fence, keep her out of trouble, give her plenty of room to move and she will do the rest and that she did!
Travelling in 6th position throughout Sweet Ruby was brought to the extreme outside on straightening by Dylan and once balanced wide out on the track in the home straight, she let down strongly to score by 1 1/4 lengths.
