Succendam was most unlucky on debut at Scone when finishing 2nd but the stable and connections didn’t have to wait too long to go one better when he saluted the judge at his 2nd start, at Wyong on Friday!

Ridden by Brenton Avdulla, Sam as he is known around the stable, settled off the pace over the mile trip. With the speed pretty genuine the talented stayer was off the bit and chasing mid-race but when the on-pacers started to come back to the field he tracked up nicely into the home turn. Despite being pushed very wide on the tight-turning final bend he was still too strong for his opposition, forging clear to score by 3/4 of a length.

Being by German Derby winner Sea The Moon, Sam is a lovely 4yo that is displaying genuine staying ability and is a horse to follow for the future!

Congratulations to his owners Orbis Bloodstock and to all the team!
