Selfless Act is a filly that has always shown promise and has been patiently handled by her owners and the team at Kim Waugh Racing.

Being a half-sister to G1 winners Castlevecchio and Maid of Heaven, the filly looks like she will definitely appreciate racing over further once she is strong enough and seasoned enough but for this her first preparation Selfless Act finished 3rd on debut at Hawkesbury over 1000m and didn’t get much room to move in the home straight before not having much luck again over 1100m at Wyong at her 2nd start.

Stepping up to 1200m on Saturday on the bigger Newcastle circuit, Selfless Act jumped positive with Ash Morgan aboard to travel in 2nd spot throughout before holding off all challengers in the run to the line to score a tough and tenacious maiden victory.

With job completed of winning a maiden in her first preparation Selfless Act has gone to the paddock for a well-deserved break!

Congratulations to her owners and to all the team!
