With just the one runner at Newcastle on Saturday, the stable had to wait till the last race for Holy Reign to compete and it was certainly well worth the wait when the handsome son of Manhattan Rain scored a dominate 2 1/2 length victory.

After falling victim to the bottomless, heavy tracks in Sydney, Holy Reign really relished getting back on a much better surface at Newcastle and despite being run off his feet over the 1300m trip and with a hot speed up front, once into the home straight Holy Reign commenced to make ground on the inside then once into the clear gobbled up his opposition to win easily with Jay Ford aboard.

Congratulations to all his Darby Racing owners and to all the team!
