The lightly raced Great News extended her winning record to 4 with 3 placings from just the 7 starts when she scored a tenacious win in the BM 78 for fillies and mares over 1400m at Newcastle on Hunter day!
Ridden positive from her wide gate Brenton Avdulla gave the mare a beautiful ride, travelling in 3rd position with cover before pouncing strongly in the home straight to win by a long neck with the 3rd horse 2 lengths away.
