Great News extended her impressive race record to 5 wins, 3 2nds & 1 3rd from 9 starts when she resumed in the same scintillating form she left the track with, demolishing her opposition in the 1200m heat of the Provincial Championships and in doing so cementing her spot in the 500k final at Randwick on April 10th.
Jumping a little awkwardly Great News settled much further back than anticipated racing wide throughout, but showed her true class with a terrific finishing burst to win by 2 1/2 lengths being eased down on the line.
