Fuchu, winner of 3 from his last 4 starts since joining the stable, indicated he was right on target for the 2nd heat of the 1400m Provincial Championships to be run at Newcastle on Saturday week.
With his regular winning rider Robbie Dolan making the trek to Newcastle, Fuchu settled 2nd last early before working home strongly in the home straight to win his 1200m trial by a half length.
