French Bonnet scored a tenacious win carrying 60.5kgs in the 1600m Nowra Cup on Sunday aided by a terrific ride from Rory Hutchings and in doing so booked a spot in the Big Dance which is run on Melbourne Cup day in November at Randwick.
Travelling in 3rd position on top of a fast pace French Bonnet was so gallant in the home straight, hitting the front then holding of all challengers in the run to the post to score by a long neck.
