3yo Celer scored his 2nd win from just 7 career starts when he led throughout at Newcastle on Saturday with Andrew Gibbons aboard!

Jumping cleanly from the gates Celer found himself in the role of pacemaker, one he has not been accustomed to before and although he looked a little lost out in front on his own he did enough when the chips were down to fight back with great tenacity and score in an exciting and thrilling finish.

Mo The Great almost made it a winning Newcastle double when he was beaten a lip on the line in the 1600m BM 70 handicap. Sent straight to the front by Andrew Gibbons the 5yo led till the last couple of strides!

City of Love resumed in nice fashion in the 1200m girls maiden coming from well back to finish 3rd and with a better run in transit would have finished much closer.  She looks one to follow next start and I would also not dismiss Staraday who didn’t enjoy much luck when resuming in the Benchmark 64 over 1200m.
