Bellenth scored a gutsy first-up victory today at Newcastle on a track that was clearly bias toward runners that could get to the outside fence in the home straight.
Ridden a treat by Jay Ford, Bellenth travelled handy before easing wide on straightening and despite being beaten for speed early in the straight – under strong riding he was able to finish off powerfully late to grab the win in the shadows of the post.
