Great to see Atherton break through on Friday at Wyong to win the 1350m maiden handicap with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle on Wyong Cup Day!
The handsome chestnut son of Written Tycoon has always shown promise but has just failed to put it all together come race day, so it was nice to see him win so dominantly for his patient connections.
Travelling in 2nd position and tracking a genuine speed, Atherton travelled strongly into the race when Avdulla eased him away from the fence and the rest as they say was history as he careered away to score by 2 lengths.
