Knight showed all his fighting qualities to lead all the way in the 1400m C1 handicap at Newcastle on Saturday with Andrew Gibbons aboard.

Lining up for just his 5th race start, Knight was ridden positively to lead with Gibbons rating him to perfection in front. Challenged in earnest in the home straight, Knight pulled out all stops and in a tenacious victory was actually coming away from his opposition close to the line to score by almost a length.

This 4yo son of Helmet certainly gives every indication he will get over even further than the 1400m trip of Saturday and is a lightly raced horse with plenty of upside.

Congratulations to his owners and to all the team!
