Oxford Magic and Staraday set to fly the flag at Wyong on Thursday

Oxford Magic and Staraday are set to fly the flag for Kim Waugh racing when racing returns to Wyong on Thursday.

Staraday makes her race day debut taking her place in race 4 L&C Ind / Pck Prysmin – Daris Legend Maiden over 1200m. The I Am Invincible mare has had the benefit of two recent trials in preparation to her debut and continues to please Kim making nice progression in each of three trials to date. “Staraday is a nice mare that has taken time to mature, she is an improving type that will continue to improve with the outing and race day experience. I have been happy with all three trials and the mare has drawn ideally in barrier 3 and she should get a lovely run in transit and I will be pleased to see Staraday hit the line. Staraday will wear a tongue tie for the first time on Thursday” added Kim. Inform jockey Tye Angland has been booked to ride Staraday, with the pair jumping from barrier 4 in the field of 13.

Lightly raced Oxford Magic will be the sole representative race 5 Clipsal by Schneider Electric Class 2 over 1200m after Kim elected to scratch tough last start winner Prince Dylan who will be saved for Cessnock on Friday.. Oxford Magic resumed from a spell five weeks ago and has been kept up to the mark with a solid trial performance scoring nicely over 1000m ten days ago. “Oxford Magic is well, he’s a horse that has shown nice ability with loads of upside that continues to learn his trade. The talented gelding brngs some solid provincal form lines to thursday’s event and combined with a very strong performances on his home track when he is unbeaten in two runs indicates another consistent performance by Oxford Magic. The gelding has drawn lovely in barrier 4 and I’m sure Tye will be able settle him close to the speed and with any luck in running Oxford Magic will be very strong late” added Kim.
