Kim Waugh Racing will be well represented with two possible starters including last start winner White Boots and Holy Reign in the final two races at Hawkesbury on Thursday.
Holy Reign will possible face the starters orders for only the second time in race 7 Hawkesbury Race Club Maiden Plate over 1300m. The Manhattan Reign 2 year old kicked off his racing career in a 1000m maiden at Gosford a fortnight ago and has continued to make solid progress both mentally and physically since his debut performance. “Holy Reign is well, he is an improving type that will continue to take benefit from the race day experience the step up to 1300m is certainly advantageous however he has drawn a tricky gate and have tinkered with his gear and he will wear a tongue tie. He currently holds a nomination for Wyong on Friday and I will sit down look at both races before deciding if we wait until Friday” added Kim. Sam Weatherly has been booked to ride Holy Reign, with the pair jumping from barrier 13.
White Boots continues his campaign stepping out to 1800m for the first time when he lines up in race 8 Hawkesbury Race Club Motel Benchmark 67 Handicap. White Boots enjoyed the slight drop back in grade with a strong victory over 1570m at Cessnock a fortnight ago and has continued to thrive both on and off the track pleasing all concerned as he returns to Hawkesbury for the second time this prep in the final event on the card. “White Boots is really well, he is a lightly raced gelding that is building a nice record and whilst he is still learning his trade the step up to 1800m looks ideal. Thursday’s assignment looks a race on paper and I have no doubt from an ideal barrier White Boots will once again prove most competitive” added Kim. James McDonald has secured the ride aboard White Boots, with the pair jumping from barrier 4.
