Sleepwalker resumes victorious at Port Macquarie

Sleepwalker kicked off his prep in impressive fashion leading all the way in the third event Anzac Day At Port Panthers Handicap over 1206m at Port Macquarie this afternoon. The Dreamscape gelding jumped well from the gate and take up the front running role. In a well-judged front running ride stable apprentice Chris Williams showed maturity beyond his years allowing the big striding gelding to roll along at an even tempo before giving Sleepwalker his head just after straightening to kick clear proving too strong over the six furlongs. “That was a great win by sleepwalker, he’s a horse that has always shown nice ability but has been plagued by injury and it is always very pleasing to see these types of horses return victorious. Sleepwalker had trialled well in the lead up to today and we did head here confident of a strong showing and whilst he got a little tired close to the line he proved too strong for his opposition he will certainly come on from today’s run. Chris has done a lot of work at home and it was great to see the pair score today, he rode him very well” added Kim.
