Port Macquarie Friday

Kim Waugh Racing will saddle up a trio of gallopers including Sleepwalker, Gold Codes and Could I Be when racing returns to Port Macquarie on Friday.

Sleepwalker resumes from a spell taking his place in race 3 Anzac Day At Port Panthers Handicap over 1206m. The Dreamscape gelding has been readied for his return to the track with a strong trial performance scoring nicely under his own steam over five furlongs on his home track a fortnight ago. “Sleepwalker is great. He’s a horse that comes to hand very quickly and that is evident by his strong trial performance and he has continued to please in the lead up to his first up run on Friday. Sleepwalker has drawn ideally in barrier 3 and with our stable apprentice, Chris Williams, taking the ride claiming 3kgs” added Kim.

Gold Codes kicked off his race career finishing on the placegetters heels at Hawkesbury two and a half weeks ago and has taken nice improvement with the race experience and will take his place in race 4 Panthers Mega Kids Playgound – Coming Soon Maiden Plate over 1206m. The Smart Missile gelding is a big strong galloper who is still learning his trade, he showed nice ability in his trials prior to his first up performance with the stable confident of a strong showing when he takes on a country maiden at only his second start. “Gold Codes is a nice type who is still very new and will continue to improve as he learns his trade. Gold Codes has drawn beautifully in barrier 2” added Kim. Aaron Bullock takes over the reins, with the pair jumping from barrier 2.

Could I Be returns to country racing following two runs on the provincial circuit and will take her place in race 7, The Tapp at Port Panthers – Beer / Wine / Eats Class 1 over 1506m. The Dream Ahead filly is rock hard fit after five runs this campaign and looks well placed stepping up to 1506m for the first time. “Could I Be is well, I have been pleased with the filly progress in stronger grade and I feel that the filly will appreciate the tempo of the 1500m and returning to a track where she has won at proven three starts back, she has drawn a touch awkwardly and if she can overcome barrier I sure she is more than capable of bouncing back” added Kim. Aarron Bullock takes over and has secured to ride aboard Could I Be.
