Oxford Poet packs too many punches at Port Macquarie

Tough front gunning galloper Oxford Poet returned from the a short 7 week freshen up with a brilliant all the way victory in the De Bortoli Wines Port Macquarie Sprint over 1200m yesterday afternoon.

Oxford Poet jumped nicely taking up the lead and always travelling like the winner. Tye Angland rated the hulking son of Dylan Thomas to a tee allowing Oxford Poet to bowl along before kicking strongly over just after straightening to score a commanding 41/2 length victory. “Oxford Poet was brilliant to lead from the outset to score a very strong win. He’s been a wonderful horse for the stable he’s just so honest and always gives a great sight he’s such a pleasure to have in the stable. I will take him home and have a look at the calendar before deciding where we go to next. Tye rode him beautifully’ added Kim.
