Purchased by Kim and Mark Waugh in late 2013 the 44 hectare property has been transformed into a boutique spelling and agistment property within a short drive to Kim’s on-course stabling at Wyong. “It has been a long-time dream of both myself and Mark to establish a property of this nature and it’s exciting seeing our plans come to fruition and now that we have the facilities such as the pool and treadmill up and running at the property which complement my training process and within a short distance to my main base at Wyong is ideal. Mahtoum lodge has become a valuable tool in the preparation of training, spelling or freshening up the gallopers. I’ll be able to keep an eye on the horses giving them my full attention and individual care’ said Kim.
The property consists of 17 paddocks ranging in sizes from spacious day yards to large paddock where we are able to run three to four horses.
The barn has been purpose built with ten large roomy stables, Horse gym treadmill and with the addition of feed and gear rooms all centrally located within the stabling complex. “ We have the best of both worlds with state of the art facilities on course at Wyong including a swimming pool which has just been completed and is now fully operational. The treadmill at the farm has been a valuable tool when pretraining the horses in the peaceful surronds here at Mahtoum Lodge” added Kim
