Hetty Heights and Calabasas bound for Royal Randwick on Saturday

Tough race mare Hetty Heights will be joined by Calabasas when the pair line up in consecutive races at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Hetty Heights has been knocking on the door recently against similar class of mares finishing amongst the placegetters in three of her last five starts just over a length when racing without luck on each occasion. “Hetty Heights is great, she’s racing in great heart and more importantly hold her form especially well against group class mares. Hetty Heights continues to please and hasn’t put a foot wrong since her last start third in Group 3 Tibby Handicap at Newcastle when hitting the line strongly over the concluding stages and the mile looks a logical step however once again she will need luck from an awkward gate’ added Kim. Larry Cassidy has been booked to guide Hetty Height over the famous Randwick mile, with the pair jumping from barrier 12

Flashy chestnut gelding Calabasas resumes from a spell in the final event on the card race 9, Metropolitan Civil Contractors Handicap over 1200m. The Snitzel gelding has been a model of consistency in his short career to date and looks to have returned in good order following two nice trial performances in the lead up to his first up run on Saturday. “Calabasas is really well. I have been very happy with his progress since his return from a spell and has continued to make nice progress between each trial and again leading into his first up run. Calabasas has drawn ideally in barrier 2 and should get a lovely run in transit mid field and with luck in running he is more than capable of a forward showing on Saturday as he has always performed very well fresh, with two placing from three first up runs, added Kim. Andrew Adkins has secured the ride aboard Calabasas and will claim 1.5kgs bringing the gelding’s weight down nicely to a kilo above the limit.
